Garden Party

garden side

The floral story is on repeat for a second season and I am loving it.  One of my first posts featured vibrant flowers mixed with leopard.  This time, I decided to remix the garden party print with tweed.  The tweed jacket is my go to staple this season and IRO is the epitome of Parisian street chic.  Their tweed interpretation if my absolute favorite!

Holiday stripes

Being a huge fan of anything beach/ocean adjacent, my husband and I decided to head North to Jonah’s at Whale Beach.  A day into a much needed getaway, I was already settling into the warmer weather like a pro ~ cocktail in one hand and straw hat in the other.

I have always been a sucker for anything nautical, especially stripes.  I couldn’t wait for warm weather and a fabulous holiday, to wear this piece.  I love it’s simplicity, which lends itself to multiple ways of accessorizing. I can definitely see this becoming a fast favorite in my closet.

I usually gravitate away from uber preppy outfits (think pearls, cardigans and bows-worn at the same time).  I own all of these and love them, but prefer to mix in a bit of an edge. I love the subtle nod to prep school a tailored blazer and crisp white blouse can instantly create.  I chose leopard pumps and a stripes over knee socks and pearls to give this look my own stamp.

Birdie

The first day of Spring is always an exciting time for me regardless of which hemisphere I’m in.  Bright colors, yummy pastels and feminine inspiration literally bloom everywhere.

I was awakened this morning by a group of Rozella’s, starving for their usual mix of bird seeds.  I haven’t seen them in awhile and was pleasantly surprised that they seemed to know it was Spring in the Northern Hemisphere even though they reside in Australia.  I drew from these little “inspirations on wings” with a bright birdie scarf and hot pink cashmere. Bring on the color!

Chic

Fashion for me, is one of the best ways to express a mood, feeling or just who you are.   How I’m feeling largely dictates what I wear and today I tapped into my comfort zone.  I love that chic can be anything from a decadent dress with the perfect accessories to a casual look with elements of your own signature style.  I love mixing different worlds-a tuxedo blazer with a simple tee, designer and bargan.  Casual chic is my comfort zone, but always proves to be unique as it’s an expression of who I truly am.
