Equipped

When it comes to versatility, I have yet to come across a piece of clothing more universal than Equipment’s silky tops.  My first purchase from this iconic brand was a long sleeve signature blouse in a vibrant coral hue.  Seven more have since joined my wardrobe and although I am partial to the cheeky printed ones, the simple lines of the crisp white sleeveless version gets paired with everything, year-round.  I love how just the simple addition of a collar peaking out can instantly take casual to something a bit more polished.

I love mixing prints that separately seem to stand on their own, but somehow create a completely unique look when paired with an opposing partner.  A similar thing happened with I decided to over indulge my love of leopard.  With each piece being a slightly different interpretation of the animal, the three together created the perfect leopard trifecta.

Blackout

One of my key wardrobe pieces is a crisp, black blazer and walking through New York City on a weekday morning, it seems to be the unofficial uniform.  Even though my favorite blazer can be paired with anything, I love a clean, monochromatic look with different textures to add dimension.  Coated leggings, nubby tee and patent pumps, transformed an otherwise plain outfit into something fabulous!

Wrapped

While I was out yesterday, I spotted the best head wrap I have ever seen on a girl leaving Dean & Deluca.  She clearly wore scarves regularly as headwear and as a result, caused quite a stir in the streets of Soho.

On our honeymoon, one of my most versatile pieces was my Theodora & Callum scarf that I literally wore 10 different ways-one being as a head wrap.  I tied it into the usual pirate style just to keep my hair out of my face, but after my encounter with the headscarf goddess in Soho, I decided to get a bit more creative.  After several attempts, I finally settled on the above creation.

Pink Leopard

pink leo clutch

My obsession with pink always shocks my friends that have known me since I was little.  From a young age, I refused to dress in anything other than black, grey or navy and you could usually find me climbing trees or playing with micro machines instead of Barbie.  Freshman year in college, I insisted that my dorm room have a black and grey theme and was literally repulsed by the girly hues that filled the rest of the hall.

My color choices did a 180 when I fell in love with my first DVF hot pink dress after graduation.  All of a sudden I couldn’t get enough of color, particularly pink.  I now have a section in my closet dedicated entirely to my favorite color.  Hot pink cashmere sweater (on sale)…..that was a no brainier!
