Royal

Summertime always inspires dramatic, attention grabbing colors, and to it’s opposition, monochromatic black dominates my Winter selections.

I have always loved head to toe black for it’s ability to ooze instant chic, but adding bright statement accessories and different textures always make things interesting.  Leather leggings and a royal blue tote will be on high rotation this season!

The Dark Side

Although cooler months are ahead, I can’t seem to totally commit to wrapping myself in layers yet.  I love a good cabernet (wine and color) 🙂 – so this pencil was right up my ally.  I decided pairing a cropped top and peep toe bootie made my migration to the dark-side a little easier.

Cinch

One of my best investment piece decisions was made several years ago in Fendi.  I am a sucker for leopard, and the Fendi interpretation was a belt I knew I would have for years.  I consider most animal prints neutrals and this piece was no exception.  Blazers, coats and over-sized dresses all cinch together perfectly.  It was definitely a splurge as far as belts go, but continues to be one of my most loved accessories.

Orange Fizz

There is definitely a chill in the air in NYC.  It seemed to have happened overnight, transitioning from a sticky heat to a much welcomed cool breeze.  With this shift, out come the “in-between” sweaters.  I love these because with their weight, you can still mix them with warmer weather pieces.  I adored the rebellious, overly happy color of this sweater and knew it would stand out in a sea of darker tones.  Of course I had to rein it in a little by pairing it with a bit of black leather 🙂

Jump Jump

jj full redo

I’ve literally been obsessed with finding the perfect jumpsuit for the past few months.  Being a short stack often makes it hard to find a fabulous fit.  Strapless, mesh, wide-leg and halters were one by one ticked off my list as I found that something was missing.  I fell in love with this one from Zara.  I love the simplicity of the fit and for once the length was perfect!  This will definitely be one of my go to pieces for season’s to come.
