Snuggle Bunny

There are days made for staying in, snuggling up and excepting that the outside elements will most certaintly win.  Today was that kind of day, but unfortunately (having never experienced New York’s version of cold) I naively decided to give the city my best NC cold weather bundle and head to Soho.  Needles to say, I ducked into every little shop that offered warmth from the monsoon like winds.  The chili infused dark hot chocolate from Vosges was literally my salvation today.  Next weekend…..Canada Goose vs. Moncler!

Tahoe

Each year, my husband and brother-and-law take their annual ski trip out West.  Typically my sister and I have stayed back as I have flown in from overseas and prefer the quality time with her.  However; now that we’re officially US residents, I’m on the hunt for the proper accoutrements for the bunny slopes this year.  As I’m not the most gifted skier, I am convinced that my fabulous Tahoe inspired scarf will distract from this minor detail 🙂

Holiday retreat

With the holiday season upon us, a once sanctuary that was your home has suddenly become busier than Grand Central.  Entertaining friends and family can be a split between fun and frantic.  My antidote is making sure my home (or at least my bedroom) remains a zen cocoon full of things that make me happy.

I also find that some of my favorite home comforts also double as fantastic holiday gifts which is a very welcomed bonus this time of year.

Tartan

Based on my unusual affinity for plaid, anyone would think my heritage lies in Scotland or Ireland (my clan actually originated in France).  Of course Burberry has always been a favorite for obvious reasons, but I really do not discriminate when I find a print I love.  To keep my fancy pants out of the conservative column, I decided to mix in another favorite…leopard.  Let the print party begin!

Rock

Each season always has one investment piece, and for me, leather is just that during Winter.  I fell in love with this shift from Vince because it ticked all the boxes: Classic shape, rich noir color and bonus, on sale!  I knew though that is was a piece I would have in my closet forever (and quite frankly had been looking for forever).

Even though the style is simple, the leather makes it a perfect canvas for accessories, but with a bit of edge.  I knew my chunky rock Gemma Redux necklace would be the perfect partner with it’s drippy chains and statement power.  I definitely felt rock glam in this pairing.
