Highlighter

I’m always adding staple pieces to my wardrobe and the usual suspects are typically in the mix: skinny dark denim, pencil skirt, tailored blazer, etc.  Sometimes though, if a particular piece of clothing is stock standard in your closet, a new version of a basic emerges.

Cue the romper.  I love them (maybe a little to much) and have an obscene amount hanging in my closet in bright colors and fun prints.  What I was missing was a classic version.  I love Club Monaco’s take on a classic romper with it’s irresistible detailing in the back.  This is how a staple is done!

The Chunk Factor

A chunky heel is always a must in my book and especially now that they are having their moment in the sun.  What’s not to love: the statement the heel makes, the comfort factor and of course the new heights shorter girls can reach.  I purchased these Marni heels at a sample sale in Sydney a couple of years ago.  They are some of my favorites and always on point in the style department. Marni does some great chunky foot candy, but I’ve also come across other that I’m crushing on.

Currently loving the chunkiness of: 

1. Love the black and cognac combo in these.

2. Metallics are always perfection (and on sale!)

3. Gladiator version of the chunky.

4. Perfect white for Summer.

Perfectly Pink

It seems so predictable – A blonde that loves hot pink and owns a chihuahua (que the Paris Hilton comparisons).  A stereotype, yes but definitely not one I would fall into.  Try as I might, I do love pink (in fact it’s my favorite color).  Pepper, my chihuahua, who went to live with my sister due to my overseas residence is, of course, my furry baby.

Needless to say, I went bananas over the vibrant pink of this top.  The color just makes you happy and I firmly believe can turn a bad day into a good one.  Paired with a crisp, white pair of jeans, I’m loving pink for the Summer.

Stripes // Leather

Stripes have always excited me and why shouldn’t they?  The very thought conjures up strolls through Paris or an afternoon of yachting.  The navy and white combo has always been the classic choice, but I definitely don’t discriminate against a neon version or multi-color version.  I decided to add a tougher edge to my stripes by pairing some leather shorts.  It’s still a classic look for me, but the addition of leather and heels gave me the chic factor … and of course my nod to the French – a Chanel bag. 🙂
