Nothing is better than a lazy weekend, especially after a grueling week giving way to a picture perfect New York weekend. I decided to pull out my crisp white denim again, pair with loafers and an easy stripe and hit West Village for brunch followed by a slow stroll through Central Park. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing days I’ve had in awhile-of course with my sweet hubby in tow any day is amazing 🙂

I will always have stacks of skinny jeans in my closet, but with the wide leg being touted as this seasons silhouette, I’m happy to oblige as I love a good flare. I chose a high waisted version from J Brand that gives the illusion of legs for days (at 5’1 this is always an added bonus). A crisp white shirt, sky high wedges and a buttery leather jacket cap off the perfect laid back weekend look for me.

Having now been in NYC for at least a year, my husband and I are finally starting to feel at home. I could spend every weekend in Soho while my other half loves exploring the culinary gems of the East Village. We’ve always found common ground in the West Village, with it’s quaint streets and boutiques, paired with amazing nibbles and unique cafes. With my husband off to Germany for Oktoberfest, we decided to try a much anticipated Aussie owned cafe in the village prior to his trip. We were immediately transported back to our Saturday morning “brekkies” in Sydney. The food, people and vibe were beyond. To cap off the morning: a walk down Perry Street (my maiden name) 🙂
Jeans: AG (also love this color), Blazer: Theory (also love this one), Scarf: Chan Luu (love this one-ON SALE!), Bag: Celine, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Shoes: Nan + Nu (similar here & here).
I’m feeling the knits at the moment and with chilly mornings and ever changing NYC weather, I’ve officially unpacked the first of my Fall goodies stacked in the top of my closet. Of course, in with some new as well some of my older favorites.
The chunk factor of this open cardigan was what pulled me in. Many times I find heavy sweaters irresistible but just to bulky and literally weigh me down. Not the case with this find. Once you have it on, it’s hard to take off.
Knit: J.Crew (also love this color)-SHOPFORFALL 25% off, Dress: Minnie Rose (similar here & here), Bag: Dior, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Shoes: Steve Madden (similar here & here).
Each Winter, I go on a hunt for the ultimate cozy sweater. Criteria: over-sized, super soft and luxurious. I don’t mind a bit of a splurge if it’s a classic piece. I went to all the usual suspects when looking for my new cozy piece, but ultimately fell in love with everything about this buttery cashmere piece from All Saints. It’s a fantastic neutral, uber soft and really has endless styling possibilities-which I always love in any piece of clothing.
Sweater: All Saints (also love this one), Leather leggings: Alice + Olivia (similar here & love this faux version), Bag: Celine (similar color here), Shoes: Christian Louboutin, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Nails: Essie in Poor lil rich girl.
I know, I know – white after Labor Day is seen as a no-no (I don’t entirely agree with that rule), but technically this is off white and realistically it was 200 degrees in NYC up until a few days ago. I decided to make the best of the sticky weekend and slip on this sweet little lace number while I still had the chance. With the Season’s finally clicking into gear, the next pairing with this piece will have to be a cozy knit.
Jacket: Current Elliott, Dress: Need Supply-old (similar here, here & here), Shoes: YSL, Wallet: Chanel, Sunnies: Barton Perreira (similar here), Nails: Essie in Berry Hard.
One staple piece that lends itself to any season is a leather pencil skirt. The silhouette alone is a classic and I love the luxe feel leather can add to any piece of clothing. I snapped this beauty up last year on sale no less, when I saw the zipper detailing. It’s super versatile letting me position the zip in the front, back or as a thigh high slit.
I decided to pair down the leather with a basic tee, and add girlie accessories as a contrast to the edgier elements.
