Lazy//Sunday

Nothing is better than a lazy weekend, especially after a grueling week giving way to a picture perfect New York weekend.  I decided to pull out my crisp white denim again, pair with loafers and an easy stripe and hit West Village for brunch followed by a slow stroll through Central Park.  It turned out to be one of the most relaxing days I’ve had in awhile-of course with my sweet hubby in tow any day is amazing 🙂

Retro

I will always have stacks of skinny jeans in my closet, but with the wide leg being touted as this seasons silhouette, I’m happy to oblige as I love a good flare.  I chose a high waisted version from J Brand that gives the illusion of legs for days (at 5’1 this is always an added bonus).  A crisp white shirt, sky high wedges and a buttery leather jacket cap off the perfect laid back weekend look for me.

Perry Street

Having now been in NYC for at least a year, my husband and I are finally starting to feel at home.  I could spend every weekend in Soho while my other half loves exploring the culinary gems of the East Village. We’ve always found common ground in the West Village, with it’s quaint streets and boutiques, paired with amazing nibbles and unique cafes.  With my husband off to Germany for Oktoberfest, we decided to try a much anticipated Aussie owned cafe in the village prior to his trip.  We were immediately transported back to our Saturday morning “brekkies” in Sydney.  The food, people and vibe were beyond.  To cap off the morning: a walk down Perry Street (my maiden name) 🙂

Knit

I’m feeling the knits at the moment and with chilly mornings and ever changing NYC weather, I’ve officially unpacked the first of my Fall goodies stacked in the top of my closet.  Of course, in with some new as well some of my older favorites.

The chunk factor of this open cardigan was what pulled me in.  Many times I find heavy sweaters irresistible but just to bulky and literally weigh me down. Not the case with this find.  Once you have it on, it’s hard to take off.

Cozy Cashmere

Each Winter, I go on a hunt for the ultimate cozy sweater.  Criteria: over-sized, super soft and luxurious.  I don’t mind a bit of a splurge if it’s a classic piece.  I went to all the usual suspects when looking for my new cozy piece, but ultimately fell in love with everything about this buttery cashmere piece from All Saints.  It’s a fantastic neutral, uber soft and really has endless styling possibilities-which I always love in any piece of clothing.
