When planning our 5 year anniversary, my husband and I unanimously agreed it was back to Anguilla we go. We discovered this secluded island in 2012 on our honeymoon and visited again in 2015.  The people, food and of course the surroundings make this spot super relaxing and definitely an escape from NYC.

I thought I’d share a few pics to start as I’ll be doing a part 2 on the food and where go on the island.  We are already planning our next trip!

Paris by Sea

Both NYC and Paris have had their share of steamy days this summer and I find the best way to survive is a happy pair of shorts.  I love my denim and typically never deviate, but I could not resist the playful print on this pair and also would have roasted in a jeans (even my rips would not have saved me).  Encountering the heat Paris and Lyon seemed effortless every time I caught a glimpse of my fun print.

IRO in Paris

Fresh off our trip to Paris, I’m still wishing I were eating a croissant at Cafe de Flore and wandering the streets of Saint Germain (my favorite area thus far).  Paris and Lyon were amazing and it being my first time to the city of lights, we made sure each day was full.

The food, the fashion and the people were lovely (more on the food and fashion in my upcoming two part Paris post).  I found most days, while not planned out, began and ended with a stroll through the beautiful streets lined with flower boxes and Juliet balconies. The quintessential effortless Parisian girl seemed to be everywhere and I found myself, unconsciously one afternoon in head to toe French labels.

IRO has always been a favorite of mine, particularly their leather jackets. I brought along a recent piece I’d picked up in the States that worked perfectly in Paris….of course. A wander into IRO’s Paris boutique resulted in more goodies joining my already loved collection 🙂

Matcha love

Over the weekend, I decided to continue a new obsession of mine…matcha.  This super tea was first introduced to me years ago, but I really gained an appreciation for it when we went to Japan.  Matcha straight from the source is like nothing else and the vibrant green color is mesmerizing.

With a weekly trip to Tokyo out, I searched for the best matcha spots locally.  Matcha Bar, in Brooklyn is my top pic. These guys are the real deal, taking trips and sourcing their match directly from Japan. In West Village I found Chalait, complete with some of the best avo toast in the city. The iced matcha latte with almond milk is delish.

With at least 5 more locations still on my list, I will happily continue the matcha hunt 🙂
