For Halloween weekend this year we decided to skip the goblin-fest in West Village and head North to Newport, RI. It was our first time in this amazing town and although the weather didn’t exactly cooperate (wind, ran and snow!) we still were able to experience some gems.
The Fall foliage was in full swing and the colors off the charts. The Breakers and The Elms made up our mansion tour and of course food and coffee tied the whole trip together. Two standouts in that department were Tallulah on Thames which was the better part of 2.5 hours of exquisite food. Empire coffee initially threw us as they offer bubble tea, but once inside the cozy coffee shop, their lattes and cortado’s are some of the best I’ve ever had!
Brunch at Castle Hill Inn….lobster roll to die for.
Exploring the Fall foliage.

One of my favorites was The Elms Mansion.

It’s that time of year again (8 weeks to go) and for all the early birds, gift ideas probably started swirling in your heads in August. I have always loved thinking about and giving gifts. The beautiful wrapping and the adoration of a well thought out token are always my favorite part of the process. I’ve decided to compile a collection of ideas to suit both sexes that are either my go to trinkets or items on my gift giving list this year. Happy gifting!
Golden lip mug, Tory Burch book, Wishbone ring stand, Theodora & Callum scarf (ON SALE!), Business card holder, Golden flatware, Jo Malone candle, Mini notebook, Pearl stud statement earrings, fringe gloves.
Watch case, Beer making kit, Nixon watch, Burberry cashmere scarf, Moscow mule mug, Ray-ban sunnies, Where chefs eat book, 36 hours book, soap on a rope.
A trench is one of those pieces that everyone should own and no one does them better than Burberry. I’m a bit partial as the brand is one of my favorites in all departments (their cashmere scarves are saviors in Wintertime). I went back and forth between the classic trench tan vs. the black and ultimately chose the black for a dressier feel.
Regardless of the brand, a well tailored trench is worth every penny. It’s an essential piece, really year round, but was perfect for the windy, cool weekend we just had in NYC.
Trench: Burberry (love this one too), Jeans: Topshop (similar here), Sweater: Michael Kors (similar here & here), Shoes: Aquazzura (love this color too), Clutch: Clare Vivier, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Watch: Nixon-20% off sitewide-FALL20 (rose gold version).
NYC has seen it’s fair share of snow recently. Being a Southerner, this is the most I’ve experienced in my lifetime. With the City being blanketed in white for the better part of January, I found my obnoxiously bright hat and sweater were perfect against the snow. I have quickly learned happy colors are a must in order to survive Winter here ~That or a trip to Bora Bora 🙂
Coat: Burberry (other color here & love this similar one), Sweater: J. Crew (similar here), Beanie: J. Crew (similar here & here), Jeans: AG Jeans (also love these), Sunnies: Westward Leaning, Clutch: Sophie Hulme (also love in black), Shoes: Superga X The Row (tan version here & basic high top here & black basic version ).
