Pink & Green

Color can be so crucial to an outfit.  I’ve literally spent months looking for the perfect shade of (insert color here), and many times ended up settling on something that is “close” but not quite what I was after.  This is why, when I come across color perfection, I will always indulge.

Pink and green is one of my favorite color combinations, and in both cases, I came across the perfect shades.  I had been on the hunt for a green accessory for months, and fell in love with the color and geometric detailing of these shoes. Hot pink python clutch…..um, that was a no brainier!

Sunshine at last!….and the perfect excuse to slowly incorporate spring trends into my wardrobe.  I love that nautical is already popping up everywhere, considering I love stripes and anything inspired by the coast.

To keep the trend from looking to literal, I decided to pair a darker blazer and similar hued rolled jeans to keep a neutral look.  The finishing touch, a pop of hot pink….naturally!

Festive

The weeks leading up to Christmas are always a flurry of parties, cocktails and catching up with friends and co-workers.  This year seems even more back to back than previous ones prompting me to find the perfect pieces that would transition from everyday, to drinks with friends, followed by my office party.  I love the idea of a jewel toned blouse, in keeping with the season, accented with touches of gold and fabulous shoes.  The combo is perfect for all my events.  Happy holidaying!

Mini me

With the pencil skirt as a timeless must have this season, I felt the need to revisit it’s shorter cousin, the mini.  A good mini is a staple in any wardrobe, and a vibrantly colored one is just a bonus!  I love their versatility and feminine vibe.  I fell in love with the cobalt blue of this piece and saw it easily fitting into my closet for any season.

Afternoon

This past weekend was a mix of relaxation and exhilaration. Friday night was filled with amazing food at Billy Kwong (the crispy skin duck is to die for) followed by tiramisu gelato at Messina.  The following day, my husband somehow talked me into taking a trapeze class (blog to follow on this one!)  Once my heart-rate returned to normal and my hands stopped shaking, we ended the weekend the way it started…relaxing.  Afternoon tea was the perfect way to unwind.

Mixed emotions

It ultimately happens every season, I begin to feel saturated by certain colors and trends.  Don’t get me wrong, I adore my merlot pieces, peplum tops and jewel toned sweaters, but sometimes I can’t help but want to break out of the shell and revisit brighter hues.

I loved my Clare Vivier clutch from the moment we met.  The fact that a hot pink stripe, smack dab down the middle of beautiful leather became an option, was just icing on the cake for me.  I didn’t know at the time, but this clutch is amazingly versatile, even with the pink detailing.  Sometimes hot pink is the only cure!

Book Worm

One of my favorite pieces of clothing is a grandpa cardigan.  They are so versatile and always comfy.  I am in love with my grey Inhabit one that gets worn like crazy.  It’s just so cozy and still has that pulled together look while being effortless and chic.  I decided it was time to add a new cardi to the rotation out of preservation for my beloved grey one.  I was drawn to the warm color and studious, almost collegiate vibe of this one.  The button detailing down the back was the added bonus that sealed the deal.
