Laid back

laid back half

We are so fortunate to be a block from Central Park.  I love to run and even though I thrive in the hustle and bustle of the city, the serenity of the park is a welcome contrast.  My husband and I often take walks after work and today, I really tapped into everything I love.  Worn in ripped denim, striped top, favorite scarf and a leopard accessory, I really felt like myself walking through the park today.  It always takes time to adjust to a new city, regardless of how fabulous it is and wrapped in some of my all time favorite pieces, my walk today was truly peaceful.

Gray Pride

gray pride half

When I was in middle school, monochromatic outfits were all the rage. Perfectly matched leggings, socks, shoes and an over-sized tee (with a side knot tied no less) pretty much summed up my middle school fashion sense.  Today, I still love the idea of wearing a neutral color head to toe-minus the matching scrunchie and tube socks 🙂.  My go to color is usually black, but it’s lighter sibling is my current obsession…gray.

To further add to my personal denim wall (yes I need therapy), I began my search for the perfect gray jean.  I can report back that 50 shades of grey is not just a best seller, it’s also the current state of the denim world.  I ended up falling in love with J Brand’s version and already knew loved the fit.  These were a close second.

Gilded details

details shoes

The warmth gold creates has always made this metallic hue one of my favorites.  It instantly adds a richness to any accessory and quite literally will goes with everything.  As Fall approaches, bringing with it cooler tones and yummy Autumn  inspired knits, I find myself adding a source of sunshine with pops of gold.

I have to admit, my gilded obsession started when I first spotted the gold version of Mr. Weitzman’s gladiators 🙂  How could I resist!

Foreign affair

faffair shoulder

I have always been a die-hard Equipment fanatic. The basics are spot on; however, I always anticipate each season’s new releases in the print department.  This year was no exception.  When I saw the mini Eiffel tower’s scattered across my favorite silk creation, I knew this was my pick! Oui oui!

Garden Party

garden side

The floral story is on repeat for a second season and I am loving it.  One of my first posts featured vibrant flowers mixed with leopard.  This time, I decided to remix the garden party print with tweed.  The tweed jacket is my go to staple this season and IRO is the epitome of Parisian street chic.  Their tweed interpretation if my absolute favorite!

heavenly lean

If I had to pick one type of clothing to take to a deserted island, hands down it would be a pair (or 5) of jeans.  Denim, by far, outweighs all other items in my closet and I have to admit, I am slightly addicted.  I love perusing through the new washes each season and always fall in love with more that I should.

With lighter denim on offer from every designer, making a decision was difficult.  I wanted something different from the standard light wash, and successfully discovered it in J Brand’s Afterlife.  The color has that “something special” factor combined with the brand’s amazing fit.  Definitely a heavenly pair of jeans!
