Grey Thoughts

I’m always a fan of the over-sized sweater, especially on freezing days when I tend to curl up inside them like a warm, fuzzy blanket.  Being short, I have to be careful that the sweater doesn’t wear me. I love the texture and color of this one from Zara and loved the detailing of the sides slits even more as they helped balance out the proportions on my petite frame.

All white everything

all white walk

There’s always something so clean and simple about white.  It’s the perfect blank slate, making accessories pop.  With that in mind, I decided with the onset of Fall showing up everywhere, to take full advantage of the Summer days left. A muscle tank paired with distressed denim gave me the edge I was after while keeping a clean look with white from head to ankle. Leopard and a poppy red capped off my lighter look.

It’s Friday Y’all

weekend aussie

Happy Friday Y’all!

After a long and busy week, I’m super excited for the weekend to finally commence.  On tap:  One of my Aussie girlfriends is coming to the Big Apple.  Laduree in Soho followed by a little retail therapy and of course stopping to refuel at Ground Support should make our Saturday fabulous!

My leopard has stripes

my leopard half BB

There are a lot of things that go hand in hand: blood orange mimosas and Sunday brunch, tattered denim and a white tee and my personal favorite: leopard and stripes.  I consider both prints neutrals and items one can never have enough of, but the combination of the two always seems to work.  Stripes are the quintessential Summer print and I can’t wait to mix them with the best accessory of all…sand dunes and salty air.

The Fling

Having lived in Sydney for so long, my East coast style quickly evolved to a bit more laid back.  I always felt Sydney had a very L.A. vibe, which I love when it comes to fashion.

When Brooke Taylor Corcia opened her carefully curated store, The Dreslyn, in Los Angeles, it was instantly apparent she was spot on in knowing exactly what every cool girl wants in her closet.  With a mix of must have staples like Current Elliott and Rag & Bone to new cult favorites like Brittish designer Sophie Hulme, a visit to The Dreslyn is perfect for adding new goodies to your closet.  When I stumbled upon this fantastic site, it instantly took me back to my Sydney roots with pieces perfect for brunching in Paddington (Sydney’s Soho).

With lighter colors and white denim already in stores, I loved Current Elliott’s Spring take on “The Fling“.  The light blue and slim boyfriend fit are a fantastic transition piece from my darker, tattered boyfriends.  I’m officially obsessed!

Print Party

printpartyhairI love mixing prints, especially pairings that may not seem like they would work until they come to life.  With florals, dots, leopard, stripes and plaid all playing in the same sandbox these days, it really comes down to what mix speaks to you.  It’s a trend that has staying power and seems to work across any season.

MSGM is the epitome of print mingling and accomplishes perfection in one single piece.  Black and white check mixed with florals…yes please!      printparty full side

Stripes//Print

This weekend was so lovely and relaxing, and also happened to be the start of my 2 week long birthday celebration. (One day is never enough).  Drinks with friends, gorgeous and thoughtful gifts and an amazing dinner at Daniel (where I was fortunate enough to meet the culinary genius himself!).  By the time Sunday rolled around, I was ready to play mix up with some of my favorite prints and enjoy a lazy stroll through the West Village.
