I’m feeling the knits at the moment and with chilly mornings and ever changing NYC weather, I’ve officially unpacked the first of my Fall goodies stacked in the top of my closet. Of course, in with some new as well some of my older favorites.
The chunk factor of this open cardigan was what pulled me in. Many times I find heavy sweaters irresistible but just to bulky and literally weigh me down. Not the case with this find. Once you have it on, it’s hard to take off.
Knit: J.Crew (also love this color)-SHOPFORFALL 25% off, Dress: Minnie Rose (similar here & here), Bag: Dior, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Shoes: Steve Madden (similar here & here).
This weekend started off with the arrival of major sniffles. My immune system hasn’t failed me all Winter-until now. Coconut water, vitamin B and green smoothies, all combined with my trusty Vicks, helped me attempt to enjoy my downtime. By Sunday, I was at least going in the right direction; enough to squeeze in a sneaky Ramen soup at Ippudo. Naturally I put on my brightest tee mixed with trusty leopard as my version of fashion medicine.
Skirt: ALC – ON SALE! (also love this one), Tee: LNA (similar here & here), Denim jacket: H&M (similar here & here), Booties: Steve Madden, Clutch: Elizabeth & James-sold out (similar here & here), Bracelet: Tai (also love this one), Sunnies: Barton Perreira (also love these).
I’ve never been one to shy away from shiny things and blinding sparkle, which usually makes the impending New Year my favorite time to buy an over the top embellished dress for the occasion.
I decided to find my shine this year in the form of a golden blazer, coated denim and statement necklace. With parties and dinners leading up the iconic ball dropping, I found a subtle nod to my sparkle obsession struck the perfect balance.
Blazer: Alice + Olivia-old (similar here & here), Jeans: AG coated (also here), Top: Nordstrom, Shoes: Steve Madden~on sale, Clutch: Sophie Hulme (also love it in red-ON SALE and this clutch), Necklace: Gemma Redux (new collection), Sunnies: Westward Leaning, Rings: Iosselliani,
I feel like everyone has one piece in their closet that really screams their personality. For me, it’s my electric pink, cashmere dress. I’ll admit, this was definitely an investment piece, and with the color being so bright, I has my reservations.
However; the fact that I love pink (this particular shade was simply stunning) and the material played right into my weakness for cashmere, I knew this piece was me. The versatility has been amazing and I love the fact that it’s technically a cooler weather dress but refuses to give into the whole “it’s cold and miserable, therefore I must be an equally dark color”. I always love clothing with attitude 🙂
Sweater dress: Michael Kors~old (love this one & this one), Booties: Steve Madden, Clutch: Clare Vivier, Scarf: Theodora & Callum-sold out (similar here), Sunnies: Westward Leaning, Bracelet: Bauble Bop.
Although cooler months are ahead, I can’t seem to totally commit to wrapping myself in layers yet. I love a good cabernet (wine and color) 🙂 – so this pencil was right up my ally. I decided pairing a cropped top and peep toe bootie made my migration to the dark-side a little easier.
Top: Zara (also similar here), Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim (similar here & here), Booties: Steve Madden, Sunnies: Westward Leaning, Earrings: Sweetie Pie Jewelry.
There is definitely a chill in the air in NYC. It seemed to have happened overnight, transitioning from a sticky heat to a much welcomed cool breeze. With this shift, out come the “in-between” sweaters. I love these because with their weight, you can still mix them with warmer weather pieces. I adored the rebellious, overly happy color of this sweater and knew it would stand out in a sea of darker tones. Of course I had to rein it in a little by pairing it with a bit of black leather 🙂
Sweater: J. Crew (similar color here), Leather shorts: T by Alexander Wang-sold out (similar here & here), Booties: Steve Madden, Sunnies: Ray-ban, Hoops: Sheila Fajl.
I have recently been obsessed with finding the perfect moto bootie. With so many options, it really can be a daunting task finding one that ticks all the boxes. Heel height, embellishments and material are the top 3 things I look for and to me, the quintessential color has to be black. (Although there are some amazing brown options).
After some reconnaissance work for several weeks, here are some of my top picks.
(Clockwise from top left) – Marc by Marc Jacobs, Just Fab, Report Juliee boot, Ash Titan boot, Sam Edelman Nolan bootie, Steve Madden bootie, Rag & Bone Harper bootie, Just Fab boot, Steve Madden boot, Wanted bootie.
