Sometimes I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation! This was definitely the case this year. After spending time in NC with family, heading North to DC and NYC (then a quick jaunt to Charleston squeezed in), we ended our month in San Fran for some relaxation.
I decided to take full advantage of the warm snap the city was experiencing and immediately pulled out my brightest jeans and cropped tee. (It think this was a repressed reaction to all the bitter cold I had endured on the East coast) I know navy and white stripes screams nautical; however, I always love the addition of leopard to this classic combo. The sequin detailing on the tee also adds the perfect amount of glam and an unexpected twist.
Leopard & sequins….perfect for a cable car ride~of course!

I have always been fascinated by the places I travel and the local street fashion that I observe. It’s amazing inspiration and a fresh take on what I usually gravitate towards. Chinatown, in any city-especially Sydney, is always a must for me. The food is amazing and the stores could occupy me for days, but nothing is better than finding a cozy spot to people watch. The street style is unbelievable. These girls are literally working every trend and sometimes all at once….and it’s fabulous! However; I have come to learn, just because they look uber chic, doesn’t necessarily always translate for me. I like choose one or two trends and rework them to suit my style.
Year round, knee high socks and sheer tights can always be seen wandering around Chinatown. I love the look and decided to add my own style to the trend.

With the pencil skirt as a timeless must have this season, I felt the need to revisit it’s shorter cousin, the mini. A good mini is a staple in any wardrobe, and a vibrantly colored one is just a bonus! I love their versatility and feminine vibe. I fell in love with the cobalt blue of this piece and saw it easily fitting into my closet for any season.

Mustard, or anything that aligns to the chartreuse family, always attracts my attention. I realize some can find this color daunting or even a bit unappealing, but I love it. It brightens my otherwise darker tones during the winter months, but can also transition nicely into Spring and Summer. I was lucky enough to snap up an extremely versatile cardigan in this color, which is usually my go to piece for everything.
Did I also mention my favorite brand of wellies, Hunter, comes in this hue? Yes please!

Scarves are one of my absolute favorite accessories…..Ok, I admit, I am a bit addicted! They can instantly add color, pattern or texture to an otherwise simple outfit. Theodora & Callum always hit the mark for me and have the added bonus of being big enough to double as a dress or beach sarong.

Living in a foreign land far, far away during one of America’s biggest celebrations can be hard. Nothing beats the family gatherings, beach front barbeques, amazing fireworks and yummy hamburgers and hot dogs. A day in the kitchen with some of the usual Independence Day delicacies usually does the trick for me. Happy 4th lovelies!
