Once again, New York weather cannot make up it’s mind.  My carefully packed Moncler coat has now come out for an encore performance given the 30 degree drop from last week and the current blizzard hitting Manhattan. I have to admit, it’s a bit deflating when my new espadrilles have to be put back in their box.

Although dark colors always accompany cold weather for me, a bright pop of color is always a pick me up.  I had been waiting for literally years for the perfect Chanel red flap.  As may Chanel lovers know, red is a popular color and not always available each season. When I laid eyes on this beauty, it was love at first sight.  The color is amazing and so happy.  I will definitely wear this year round but it’s the perfect cure for Winter blues.

Roots

After some much needed time off, my little clan headed down South to spend Thanksgiving with my family.  It was Pepper’s second time on a plane and he did so well (even met the captain). It was also the first holiday without Nanna which was hard but also nice to visit some of the places we use to go when I visited.  As I was heading towards Cameron Village (our lunch spot was always the Village Deli), I noticed the gates were open to Tatton Hall-a stunning estate flanked with the last of the Fall leaves. Everything about the grounds were Southern and provided the perfect backdrop for some photos.

Sweater Weather

change of season B

One of my favorite parts of colder weather is the chunky knits.  I love getting lost in a big over sized cashmere sweater on a cooler day and no one does them better than Nili Lotan.  I came across this grey one a couple of years ago and was in sweater heaven.  It’s cozy enough for the Fall and Winter, but still has the detail and structure a sweater needs.

Hello November!

Hello nov cross b

It seems like over the coarse of a weekend, Central Park went from fresh, green leaves to brilliant shades of fiery red and golden ombres.  With candy corn and pumpkin pies now being old news (but so yummy), November is well and truly off and running.

Saks has already adorned their first floor with their trademark garland, sparking the urge for peppermint lattes and window gazing.  Knowing the big apple typically becomes an ice block in December/January, I relish this time of year, when layering can actually be cute and walks in Central Park are paved with golden leaves vs. mounds of snow.
