I have been obsessed recently with adding a pair of tuxedo denim to my collection. My typical purchases, as per my previous posts are classic, safe and sometimes, let’s be honest, boring. The conversation in my head goes something like this: “OMG how cute are theses! The stripe is so different. Wait, can I wear these in a year’s time? Are they to trendy? Do I want to spend $300 on a pair of non-classic denim?” And round and round we go.
The fact of the matter is, fashion should be fun. Yes you want the bulk of your wardrobe to be timeless but the pieces with personality that make your heart sing are the reason getting dressed is fun. Are these overstepping my line of comfort-no, and honestly they are classic, but something feels special when I slip these on vs. my stock standard pair of dark wash (fill in designer here).

New Year’s back in Sydney next year!
After some much needed time off, my little clan headed down South to spend Thanksgiving with my family. It was Pepper’s second time on a plane and he did so well (even met the captain). It was also the first holiday without Nanna which was hard but also nice to visit some of the places we use to go when I visited. As I was heading towards Cameron Village (our lunch spot was always the Village Deli), I noticed the gates were open to Tatton Hall-a stunning estate flanked with the last of the Fall leaves. Everything about the grounds were Southern and provided the perfect backdrop for some photos.

It seems like over the coarse of a weekend, Central Park went from fresh, green leaves to brilliant shades of fiery red and golden ombres. With candy corn and pumpkin pies now being old news (but so yummy), November is well and truly off and running.
Saks has already adorned their first floor with their trademark garland, sparking the urge for peppermint lattes and window gazing. Knowing the big apple typically becomes an ice block in December/January, I relish this time of year, when layering can actually be cute and walks in Central Park are paved with golden leaves vs. mounds of snow.

This will be my first official Fourth spent in the US and I’m super excited. Although I had American friends in Sydney-who could always throw one hell of a Fourth of July party-it’s nice to see our fireworks on US soil. Looking back through some of my photos, I realized that around the June/July time frame every year in Sydney, my outfit selection was unintentionally patriotic. My subconscious seems to be extremely patriotic!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and fun filled Fourth with friends, family and of course fashion!
